Two held after toddler's methadone overdose
LONDON (Reuters) - Two men have been arrested after a two-year-old boy died from a suspected overdose of methadone.
West Midlands Police said the men, aged 30 and 33, had been freed on bail pending further inquiries after the boy died at Birmingham children's hospital on Thursday.
The 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of neglect, and the 33-year-old on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug.
Two other children, believed to be the dead boy's brothers, were also taken to hospital from an address in Walkers Heath, Birmingham.
A three-year-old boy is said to be in a stable condition, while a four-month-old boy was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A hospital spokeswoman said they had been placed in the care of social services.
