Vestas to restart sales of offshore turbine
COPENHAGEN, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Denmark's Vestas (VWS.CO), the world's biggest maker of wind turbines, said on Monday it would again release its 3.0 megawatt offshore wind turbine for sale starting May 1.
In early 2007, Vestas decided to withdraw the turbine -- it's biggest offshore model -- from the market due to gearbox problems.
The cause of the problems has since been mapped, Vestas said in a statement, and based on positive test results, it has decided to release the turbine for sale. (Reporting by Kim McLaughlin; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
