LONDON (Reuters) - French utility Suez said on Tuesday it was still in talks with interested parties about the future of Britain's nuclear energy sector, including discussions relating to British Energy.

"Suez notes the recent press comment and speculation concerning its intentions in relation to British Energy. Suez understands that these could be interpreted incorrectly as meaning that Suez is not involved in the current discussions relating to British Energy and the nuclear energy sector in the UK," the company said in a statement.

"As previously indicated by Suez, the completion of the merger with Gaz de France remains Suez's key priority and any decision related to British Energy would only be taken by the newly constituted board of the merged company," it said.
