Autonomy profit rises
LONDON (Reuters) - British search software company Autonomy (AUTN.L) reported a 85 percent rise in second-quarter adjusted pretax profit to $50.78 million (25.5 million pounds) on Monday, and said it was increasingly positive about its outlook for the second half.
The company, which has more than 17,000 customers including BAE Systems (BAES.L), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK.L) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, said revenues in the quarter to June 30 were up 72 percent year-on-year at a record $125.65 million.
Chief Executive Mike Lynch said the performance was driven by strong organic growth across all areas of the business, and operating margins had hit a new record of 40 percent.
"Despite our conservative approach to the current macro uncertainty, the fact that our fundamental market dynamics and our pipeline going into the second half remain strong leads us to be comfortable with a positive upgrade with respect to the second half of the year," he said in a statement.
