MILAN, July 21 (Reuters) - Italy's Eni SpA (ENI.MI) has completed repairs to its Tebidaba-Brass River pipeline in Nigeria, damaged in an attack last week which caused the loss of 47,000 barrels a day of output, the oil company said on Monday.

Work began at dawn on Monday to restart the flow of oil and production, it said in a statement on its website. No people were injured, and there was no damage to the environment.

Residents in Nigeria's restive Niger Delta blew up the pipeline linking the Tebidaba flowstation and Brass River export terminal on the night of July 16-17.

The governor of Nigeria's Bayelsa state told Reuters the attack stemmed from a "community dispute" with foreign oil companies.

Following the attack, Eni said it shut 47,000 barrels a day of production after two pipelines linked to the Tebidaba flowstation suffered a sudden loss of pressure.

Nigeria is the world's eighth-biggest oil exporter but violence has cut output by a fifth since early 2006, helping push oil prices to record highs. (Reporting by Ian Simpson; editing by Sue Thomas)
