LONDON (Reuters) - A 33-year-old man was shot outside a pub in Birmingham on Sunday and died later hospital, police said.

The unidentified man was shot after an altercation inside the King of the Road pub in the Newtown district of Birmingham shortly after 7.45 a.m., a police spokeswoman said.

"Following a disturbance inside the pub, several shorts were fired outside and a 33-year-old man was hit in the chest," she said.

"He was taken to hospital where he died shortly afterwards."

Police said it was unclear how many assailants there had been and appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.
