CANNES, France (Reuters) - The 2008 Cannes film festival closes on Sunday with an awards ceremony where the prizes, including the coveted Palme d'Or for best picture, are handed out.

Following are the 22 movies in the main competition lineup, listed in the order they appeared at the festival and naming the director and his or her nationality.

- BLINDNESS, Fernando Meirelles, Brazil

Julianne Moore stars in story of plague of blindness sweeping the world. Based on Jose Saramago's novel of same name.

- LEONERA (Lion's Den), Pablo Trapero, Argentina

Martina Gusman portrays a pregnant woman jailed for murder whose life is transformed by her son.

- WALTZ WITH BASHIR, Ari Folman, Israel

Animated documentary exploring Folman's memories of 1982 massacre of Palestinians in Beirut's Sabra and Shatila camps.  Continued...

Darling to cut GDP forecast
