*GAZA - Israel launched an air strike at a Hamas Executive Force position near the village of Murghaqa in the central Gaza Strip, witnesses said. An Israeli Army spokesman confirmed the attack on Hamas. Hamas sources and witnesses said six missiles were used. Hamas fighters had evacuated the position and suffered no casualties, a Hamas source said. A hospital source said four civilians were wounded when two missiles struck the site a short time after an initial salvo of four. One of those wounded was a local journalist for a pro-Hamas radio station, the source said.
*RAMALLAH, West Bank - A senior official in the Fatah movement said he would meet Egyptian officials in Cairo on Saturday as part of Egyptian efforts to ease frictions between Fatah and the ruling Hamas Islamist movement.
GAZA - Israel launched seven air strikes against Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in the Gaza Strip overnight, including posts in Khan Yunis, Gaza City, Jabalia, Sha'ati and Rafah, the Israeli army said in a statement. Residents said one of those attacks was near the home of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in the Sha'ati refugee camp in northern Gaza. No casualties were reported in any of the attacks. The army said one attack targeted a "business involved in transferring funds to terror organisations".
EREZ CROSSING - Two mortar shells were fired from Gaza and landed close to the Erez crossing point with Israel causing damage to the facility, but no injuries, an Israeli army statement said.
SDEROT, Israel - Five improvised Qassam rockets landed in Israeli territory near Sderot and Ashkelon, all landing in open fields and causing no damage, the Israeli army said.
