Vivendi to launch Web portal -report
PARIS (Reuters) - Vivendi is preparing to launch an Internet portal this autumn to sell music, video or games for computers, television and mobile phones, daily Les Echos reported on Friday.
The portal would compete against online sites such as YouTube and MySpace.
A new unit called Vivendi Mobile Entertainment has been created to launch the service, which would come five years after the failure of Vivendi's Vizzavi portal, designed as a gateway for PC and interactive TV content, the paper said.
Vivendi declined to comment.
Vivendi shares barely moved in early trade, up 0.2 percent at 31.67 euros by 8:50 a.m.
