Britain win women's team pursuit world title

MANCHESTER (Reuters) - Britain won the women's 3,000 metres team pursuit title at the track cycling world championships on Friday.

Rebecca Romero, Wendy Houvenaghel and Joanna Rowsell set a time of three minutes, 22.415 seconds, beating Ukraine in the ride-off for the gold medal. Ukraine set a time of 3:29.744.

Germany won the bronze medal in the ride-off against Belarus, with a time of 3:26.960.
