"Love Actually" star in hospital after car accident
LONDON (Reuters Life!) - Actor Kris Marshall, who starred in hit BBC comedy show "My Family" and appeared in the film "Love Actually", is recovering in a British hospital after being struck by a car, his publicist said on Monday.
Marshall, 35, sustained head injuries after the collision in the centre of Bristol, British police said in a statement.
Marshall, who also plays the fair-haired boyfriend in a widely screened TV ad campaign for the BT phone company, had been out with friends on Saturday night.
His injuries were not life threatening, the publicist said.
"I can confirm that Kris Marshall was involved in an accident in Bristol on Saturday night and sustained a head injury," she said in a statement.
"He is currently in a stable condition in hospital and is expected to be discharged within the next couple of days."
She would not confirm media reports that he was in intensive care. A police spokesman said the driver of the Volkswagen car stopped immediately and later passed an alcohol breath test.
Investigations were continuing.
