AMSTERDAM, March 29 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven's championship party was put on hold after they drew 0-0 at NEC Nijmegen on Saturday while Ajax Amsterdam registered a 4-2 victory at Heerenveen.

PSV stayed top of the league on 65 points, five more than second-placed Ajax with three games left. Heerenveen slipped to fifth on 54 points behind Feyenoord and NAC Breda, who meet on Sunday.

Luis Suarez netted a rebound on the stroke of halftime to put Ajax ahead before Kenneth Perez's penalty doubled the lead 10 minutes into the second half.

Miralem Sulejmani pulled one back for Heerenveen but two goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the 61st and 89th minutes sealed the win for Ajax.

Danijel Pranjic added a second for the home side in injury time.

Heracles Almelo and Roda JC Kerkrade drew 0-0 while bottom club Excelsior Rotterdam came from behind to beat VVV Venlo 2-1.

Venlo took the lead after 10 minutes through Karim Soltani before Excelsior had Geert den Ouden sent off early in the second period.

Jason Oost failed to convert a 67th-minute penalty and Venlo paid a heavy price for his miss when Leen van Steensel equalised with 12 minutes to go after goalkeeper Kevin Begois dropped the ball and Robert Braber grabbed the winner two minutes later.  Continued...
