Argentina signs Alstom high-speed train deal
PARIS, April 29 (Reuters) - Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner on Tuesday signed a contract with Alstom and its partners for a very high speed train link worth 1.1 billon euros ($1.71 billion) to the French firm.
Alstom (ALSO.PA) said the contract was awarded in January to it and partners Iecsa, Isolux Corsan and Emepa1. The contract is for the link between Buenos Aires and Cordoba.
Alstom said the contract would become effective when the financing is in place, which should take place in the coming months. (Reporting by Marcel Michelson, editing by Will Waterman)
