Briefs 2-Goalkeeper Lopez extends deal with Villarreal to 2014
LONDON, March 31 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
* Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez has agreed a two-year contract extension that ties him to the club until 2014, the Primera Liga's second-placed club said on their Web site (www.villarrealcf.es).
The 26-year-old joined from Real Madrid last June, where he had been understudy to Iker Casillas, and has established himself as their first-choice keeper.
* Gigi Multescu has become the season's fourth managerial casualty at Romanian champions Dinamo Bucharest by resigning on Monday, a day after their 2-1 home defeat by leaders CFR Cluj, the club said.
Multescu had only taken over from Cornel Talnar on March 4. His other predecessors were Italian Walter Zenga and Mircea Rednic, who won the title last season but quit in September after they failed to reach the Champions League group stage.
* Valencia midfielder Hedwiges Maduro will almost certainly miss the King's Cup final against Getafe on April 16 after tearing a muscle in his right leg during Sunday's 3-0 defeat by Real Mallorca.
Striker David Villa is also a doubt after straining a muscle in his right leg in the same match. "I will be doing all I can to get back as soon as possible," the Spain international told reporters after a scan on Monday.
* Three-times world touring car champion Andy Priaulx will wear a black armband at this weekend's race in Puebla, Mexico as a mark of respect for former drivers David Leslie and Richard Lloyd, who died on Sunday when their private jet crashed. Continued...
