Shares in German scent and food flavours firm Symrise (SY1G.DE) rise 1.3 percent, one of only five gainers in Frankfurt's midcap index .MDAXI, after the company reports above-forecast third-quarter earnings.

"Symrise reported 3Q09 results which are generally slightly better than we and the market had expected," BHF Bank analyst Annett Weber writes, keeping a "buy" rating on the stock.

Symrise says third-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 5 percent to 72.2 million euros ($106.5 million), above the 65 million euros expected by analysts in a Reuters poll. For more double click on [ID:nL4141697]
