DUBLIN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Bank of Ireland (BKIR.I) expects to be given an opportunity to get to the higher capital ratios demanded by the market over a prolonged period without the need for a sudden boost, it said on Wednesday.

"Organisations are going to be given an opportunity to get there over a period of time," Chief Financial Officer John O'Donovan said. "Getting to those lofty numbers is going to be a longer grind rather than getting there in one swoop," O'Donovan told an analysts' call. (Reporting by Andras Gergely)
