STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps close 0.3 pct lower

The FTSE Small Cap Index .FTSC ends 0.3 percent lower, underperforming the wider UK market, with the FTSE 100 .FTSE and the FTSE 250 .FTMC end 0.4 and 0.3 percent higher respectively.

Central Rand Gold (CRND.L) leaps more than 16 percent after announcing the "urgent interdict" sought by Puno Gold Investments to halt the company's trial mining operations has been dismissed by the South Gauteng High Court.
