LONDON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - South African miner Central Rand Gold (CRDJ.J)(CRND.L) said on Thursday it had won a court battle with Puno Gold Investments, boosting its share price as much as 17 percent.
The South Gauteng High Court dismissed the case brought about by Puno Gold, the 26 percent Black Economic Empowerment partner in CRG's operations, following a hearing on Thursday.
Puno Gold, which will pay all legal costs in the dispute, had sought an "urgent interdict" to stop Central Rand from proceeding with mining operations on some of its tenements on the outskirts of Johannesburg.
"The court case has not delayed the development of our assets and we look forward to progressing with trial mining, which is the springboard towards full-scale commercial gold mining in our Johannesburg mining right area," the chief executive of CRG, Johan du Toit, said in a statement.
