(Adds remarks on market decline,income)

PARIS, July 25 (Reuters) - French TV broadcaster M6 (MMTP.PA) does not expect a pick-up in the advertising market in the second half, Chairman Nicolas de Tavernost told a conference call on Friday.

He said he expected the market to decline by 8 percent in 2008 but aimed to keep advertising income at the group stable in the second half.

On Thursday the company posted a narrower than expected drop in its first-half profit but performance was hit by investment in the rights to broadcast this year's European soccer championships.

France's second largest commercial TV broadcaster said its net attributable profit fell 26.7 percent to 79.2 million euros ($124.4 million) while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation fell almost 30 percent to 106.5 million euros.
