Shares in German solar companies are indicated lower in prebourse trade, as traders point to a sales warning by Chinese solar wafer maker LDK Solar Co Ltd (LDK.N), which said that the global economic crisis and tight credit markets have weakened demand for solar power.

A trader says that the sales warning by LDK is weighing on German solar stocks. "LDK shares lost 14 percent after hours," another trader says.

Shares in Q-Cells (QCEG.DE), to which LDK supplies, are indicated 3.6 percent lower. Q-Cells last month cut its 2008 outlook and its 2009 sales forecast.

Shares in peer SolarWorld (SWVG.DE) are seen down 2.8 percent, while Solon (SOOG.DE) is indicated 2.7 percent lower. SMA Solar (S92G.DE) is seen down 2 percent, while solar energy systems maker Conergy (CGYG.DE) is indicated 4.2 percent lower. For more double click on [ID:nN05393470]
