STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Kuka gains on capital increase

Shares in KUKA (KU2G.DE)gain 17.8 percent, rising to their highest level in the last 6 months and racing to the top of Frankfurt's small cap index .SDAXI, after the German robotics expert says it will raise just under 28 million euros in a fully subscribed capital increase. "This is positive news for Kuka as it will strengthen the company's capital and the company doesn't have to place these shares on the open market," says a Frankfurt-based trader.

He said the news may have forced many investors to cover short positions.
