Briefs 3-Atletico winger Reyes joins Benfica on loan

Soccer - Spain winger Jose Antonio Reyes has joined Benfica from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan, the Lisbon club said on their website (www.slbenfica.pt).

The 24-year-old Reyes, who has 21 caps, joined Atletico last season after spells at Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Soccer - Aston Villa have signed England international defender Luke Young from Middlesbrough, the Premier League club said on their website (www.avfc.co.uk).

No fee was disclosed for right back Young, 29, who became manager Martin O'Neill's second signing of the day following the arrival of left back Nicky Shorey from Reading.
