Nov 7 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:

Soccer - UEFA has opened a disciplinary investigation after a teenage supporter invaded the pitch during Celtic's 1-1 home draw with Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Celtic have a suspended fine of 30,000 Swiss francs ($25,600) hanging over them from last season after a fan ran on the pitch near the end of their Champions League win over AC Milan and made contact with visiting goalkeeper Dida.

European soccer's ruling body UEFA said its disciplinary committee would examine the latest incident at their next meeting on Nov. 13.

Cycling - Polish champion Marcin Sapa has joined the Lampre team on a one-year deal.

"We noticed Marcin during the last Tour of Poland when he won the sprint classification," manager Beppe Saronni told the team's website (www.teamlampre.com).
