LONDON (Reuters) - Three Britons were found guilty on Monday of planning to kill people as part of a plot involving homemade liquid bombs.

Here are brief facts about the men.

ABDULLA AHMED ALI, 27

Ali, who lived in Walthamstow, east London, was one of the three main figures in the plot, according to police and prosecutors.

A diary was found containing details of how to make the bombs and evade detection.

Prosecutors said he recruited the men to carry out the attacks, drew up possible targets and made a martyrdom video.

Ali, who had a degree from a London university in computing, claimed the plot was a publicity stunt to grab the world's attention about U.S. and British foreign policy, but was not intended to kill.

ASSAD SARWAR, 28

Hydrogen peroxide bottles were found at his home in High Wycombe and a suitcase buried in woodland nearby contained ingredients to make a detonator.  Continued...

Darling to cut GDP forecast
