STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Aer Lingus jumps, Q3 numbers please
Shares in Irish airline Aer Lingus (AERL.I) soar 16 percent after it says measures to streamline the business help fill planes more fully, with average fares coming in better than some analysts expected.
"The yield figures look better than we anticipated in Q3," Goodbody analyst Eamonn Hughes says.
Analysts add however, that Aer Lingus still needs to deliver the rest of its proposed cost cutting plan to safeguard its independence.
"This is a more positive statement overall but has to be seen in the context of the perilous state in which the airline remains," Davy analyst Stephen Furlong says.
