CYFROWY POLSAT
Poland's top pay-TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat CPSM.WA reported a touch smaller-than-expected 29-percent net profit drop in the third quarter, hurt by mounting marketing costs to fend off aggressive competitors. [nL9472769]
AGORA
Polish media group Agora AGOD.WA posted a 27-percent net-profit drop in the third quarter due to a collapse in newspaper advertising, but deep cost cuts helped it beat market expectations. [nWAR011113]
PEKAO
Pekao BAPE.WA Poland's largest corporate lender, reported a 26-percent net-profit drop in the third quarter due to mounting provisions for bad loans and tight interest margins, but it beat analysts' expectations. [nL9717372]
MACROECONOMIC DATA
The central bank releases September current account data. Analysts expect a shortfall of 69 million euros. (1300)
The statistics office scheduled to release January-September trade data (1300).
FORTUM
Finnish utility Fortum (FUM1V.HE) remains interested in the
privatisation of Polish energy groups, a deputy head of its
Polish unit tells Puls Biznesu.
CO2
Poland may get up to 1.6 billion euros by 2012 from sale of its carbon emission permits, environment minister Maciej Nowicki told TVN CNBC news channel.
