STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Talvivaara up; Broker upbeat on outlook

Shares in Finnish nickel and zinc miner Talvivaara (TALV.L) gain 1.4 percent after reporting it was over the worst of its production problems, while posting a deeper third-quarter loss, which prompts Seymour Pierce to repeat its "buy" rating.

"With the company now in control of the key operational issues, cash available (following the 71.3 million pound placing in June) and robust metal prices, we reiterate our recommendation as the company moves towards its first year of significant production," says the broker in a note.

The London-listed company, which launched production last year and has had problems with its heap leach processing facility, posts a third-quarter loss of 10.7 million euros from 9.4 million euros in the same period last year.
