(Recasts with company confirmation of shutdown)

LONDON, Nov 11 (Reuters) - British Energy's (EDF.PA) Sizewell B2 nuclear power turbine was stopped on Wednesday, while the other unit at the plant remained at full output, a company spokeswoman said.

"Turbine two was taken off at 1140 GMT this morning," the spokeswoman said, adding it was shut down manually and did not trip but declining to say why it was stopped.

"Turbine one is currently generating at about 625 megawatts," she said.

Sizewell can generate enough electricity to supply more than 1.5 million homes, or 3 percent of Britain's power. (Reporting by Kwok W. Wan and Daniel Fineren; editing by Sue Thomas)
