SAO PAULO, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Coach Dunga called up AC Milan defender Thiago Silva on Wednesday for Brazil's friendlies with England and Oman over the next week after Benfica's Luisao underwent surgery for appendicitis.

Milan accepted the request for Silva after the deadline for releasing players "in light of the exisiting good relations" with the Brazilian Football Confederation, according to a statement on the Italian club's website (www.acmilan.com).

Luisao underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday, withdrawing from the Brazil squad for the friendlies against England in Doha on Saturday and Oman in Muscat next Tuesday.
