UPDATE 1-Britain's JKX finds gas in Hungary well
(Adds detail on discovery from statement)
LONDON, Aug 11 (Reuters) - JKX Oil & Gas Plc (JKX.L) has found gas in the Hajdas-1 exploration well in Hungary, the British exploration and production company said on Monday.
"The well has now been completed as a potential future producer," JKX said in a statement, adding that more drilling was needed to determine the discovery's commercial significance.
JKX said it planned to dig another well in the fourth quarter to examine the three sites where gas was discovered, and to target a deeper formation that could not be reached by Hajdas-1.
Hajdas-1 is located in the Hern licences in north eastern Hungary. JKX holds a 50 percent interest in the licences. (Editing by Quentin Webb)
