RWE to submit plan to build CCS plant in Wales
(Corrects alert of Monday story to make clear the pilot carbon capture project is for 3 MW, not the entire existing 1,500 MW plant. Inserts 3 MW scale in first paragraph of story)
LONDON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - German utility RWE (RWEG.DE) will submit a planning application to build a 3 megawatt carbon capture and storage pilot project at its 1,500 MW coal-fired power plant in Aberthaw in South Wales, the company said on Monday.
"The plant will be at least eight times the size of existing 'post-combustion' projects in the UK and operate for twice as long," RWE said in a statement. (Reporting by Kwok W. Wan, editing by Anthony Barker)
