LOCH LOMOND, Scotland (Reuters) - Rapidly improving German Martin Kaymer made it back-to-back victories when he won the Scottish Open on Sunday.

The 24-year-old, who beat Lee Westwood in a playoff to land last week's French Open title, cruised to a two-shot triumph after a closing 69 gave him a 15-under total of 269 at the warmup event for next week's British Open.

Overnight leader Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (72) of Spain shared second place on 271 with Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin (66). A further stroke adrift were Adam Scott of Australia (66) and Dane Soren Kjeldsen (70).

"This week was very special because Scotland is the home of golf," Kaymer told reporters after climbing within touching distance of the world's top 10.

"I have really enjoyed the last two days especially. The spectators were amazing the way they supported us."

With early drizzle and murky skies eventually giving way to bright sunshine, Kaymer took control with three birdies on the front nine while Fernandez-Castano had to wait until the 14th hole to pick up his first stroke of the day.

Kaymer effectively locked the door on his fourth tour victory by converting a 12-foot birdie putt at the 13th and sinking another six-foot effort two holes later.
