 WARSAW, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press
reports and events to watch which may affect Poland's financial
markets on Thursday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland GMT + 1 hour):
 
 PGNiG
 Poland's gas monopoly PGNiG PGNI.WA reported
better-than-expected third-quarter net profit on Thursday, which
more than doubled thanks to gains on gas imported from Russia.
 The group earned 406 million zlotys ($145.9 million) versus
351 million seen by analysts polled by Reuters. In the year-ago
period it had a net profit of 179 million zlotys. [nWAR011120]
 
 BZ WBK
 Polish bank BZ WBK BZWB.WA reported a surprising net
profit rise of 7 percent in the third quarter thanks to
better-than-expected net interest income and lower bad loan
provisions.
 The bank, controlled by Allied Irish Banks (ALBK.I), earned
264 million zlotys ($94.9 million) in the quarter compared to
190 million expected by analysts polled by Reuters. [nWAR01112]
 
 GTC
 Globe Trade Centre GTCE.WA, a Warsaw-listed real estate
company, had a net loss of 138 million zlotys ($49.2 million) in
the third quarter, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

 BUDGET
 Poland plans to implement a spending rule, which could
alloow it to cap growth in public sector spending, deputy
finance minister Ludwik Kotecki was quoted as saying by Dziennik
Gazeta Prawna.
 
 LOTOS
 Polish treasury wants to sell up to 13 percent in refiner
Lotos LTOS.WA by mid-2010, Deputy Treasury Minister Mikolaj
Budzanowski told daily Parkiet in an interview.
 
 POLITICAL POLLS
 Support for Poland's ruling Civic Platform party dropped 4
percentage points to 45 percent according to a poll by PBS DGA
for Gazeta Wyborcza, but rose 3 percent to 49 percent in the GfK
Polonia poll for Rzeczpospolita.
 
 DEFICIT
 Poland's general government deficit may breach 6 percent
this year and keep rising in 2010, deputy head of the Polish
National Bank Zbigniew Hockuba said in his article for
Rzeczpospolita.
