Shares in Aveva (AVV.L) rise 6.6 percent after analysts say half-year results put the software company on track to meet expectations for the year.

Seymour Pierce upgrades the company to "Hold" from "Underperform", saying the results show some resilience in revenue and earnings.

Panmure Gordon, meanwhile, says the "solid" results are in line with its recently upgraded estimates. "This morning's narrative suggests a broader operational improvement in oil and gas, power having potential and marine poor as expected," says the broker's George O'Connor in a note.
