DUBLIN, July 14 (Reuters) - Irish authorities will need to consider the prospect of consolidation among banks as a result of the establishment of the National Asset Management Agency, central bank Governor John Hurley said on Tuesday.

"The issue of consolidation is an issue that will have to be faced up as we go through the NAMA process," said Hurley, who is also a Governing Council member of the European Central Bank, referring to Ireland's 'bad bank' project.
