STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-European solars plunge on Q-Cells

Shares in European solar companies fall after Q-Cells (QCEG.DE), the world's biggest maker of solar cells withdraws its 2009 sales outlook and pre-releases a substantial second-quarter EBIT loss.

A local trader says that the news will have an impact on the company's peers throughout Europe.

Q-Cells shares are down 9.6 percent, while shares in UK firm PV Crystalox (PVCS.L), a supplier to Q-Cells, fall 4.4 percent, topping the mid-cap losers in London.

German SolarWorld (SWVG.DE) and Phoenix Solar (PS4G.DE) drop 2.3 percent each, and Norwegian peer Renewable Energy Corp (REC.OL) fall 0.7 percent. For more double click on [ID:nLE511955]
