STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps up 0.9 pct at the close

The FTSE small cap index .FTSC closes up 0.9 percent taking its cue from the wider UK market where the FTSE 100 .FTSE finishes 0.9 percent higher and the FTSE 250 .FTMC gains 1.8 percent.
