STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps up 0.4 percent midday

The FTSE Small Cap index .FTSC gains 0.4 percent in midday trade, underperforming both the blue chips .FTSE and the midcaps .FTMC, which add 0.5 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.

Findel (FDL.L), the British home shopping and education supplies firm, grabs the top spot on the FTSE Small Cap leaderboard, jumping almost 22 percent, with traders saying fears have subsided over its ability to raise equity finance. [ID:nLE419846]
