MEXICO CITY, July 14 (Reuters) - Former Real Madrid and Argentina winger Santiago Solari is joining Atlante, the Mexican club's executive president Jose Antonio Garcia said.

"It's 99.9 percent certain, we just have to wait for him to arrive on Friday and sign," Garcia told the club's website (www.atlantefc.com.mx).

The 32-year-old Solari, who has been at San Lorenzo since returning to Argentina last year, made his first division debut with River Plate in 1996 before moving to Atletico Madrid two years later.

He was at Real from 2000-05 and was then signed by Italy's Inter Milan.

Central and North American champions Atlante will play in the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi in December. (Reporting by Carlos Calvo; Editing by Alastair Himmer; to query or comment on this story email sportsfeedback@thomsonreuters.com)
