European stock index futures point to a higher start, adding to last week's strong gains, with commodity-related shares poised to benefit from buoyant oil and metal prices as the dollar dips.

Futures for the DJ Euro Stoxx STXEc1, for Germany's DAX FDXc1 and for France's CAC FCEc1 were up 0.7-0.9 percent.

The FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top European shares rose for the third-day in a row on Friday and hit a three-week closing high. The index gained 2.7 percent last week.
