STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-FTSE small caps up 0.4pct early on

The FTSE Small Cap Index .FTSC gains 0.4 percent early trades, underperforming the wider market rally where the FTSE .FTSE rises 1.2 percent and the FTSE 250 .FTMC adds 0.9 percent.

British radio content supplier UBC Media Group (UBC.L) climbs 12.5 percent after swinging to a first-half profit 620,000 pounds from a loss of 1.8 million pounds the previous year, as group revenue rose 9 percent to 1.94 million pounds. <ID:nRnsP5496C]

Solo Oil Plc (SOLO.L) falls over 24 percent after announcing a 6.4 million pound placing. The company also says it has signed a Farm-out agreement with London Main Market listed Aminex PLC(AMNX.I) to earn a 12.5 percent interest in the Likonde-1 well in Tanzania. [ID:nRnsP5311C]
