LABOUR MARKET STATISTICS (Sept/Oct)

The number of people claiming unemployment benefit is expected to have risen at a faster pace in October than in September, up 40,000 to around 980,000 -- which would be the highest level since March 2001 and the ninth consecutive monthly rise this year.

Annual earnings growth including bonuses is expected to have slowed in the three months to September to 3.3 percent, the slowest pace since the three months ending July 2003.
