FSA to meet oil industry to discuss transparency
LONDON (Reuters) - The Financial Services Authority said on Thursday it and the Treasury will meet with oil industry representatives next week to discuss market transparency and efficiency.
The FSA said the meeting, scheduled for August 5, would involve oil producers, traders, banks and investment funds.
The meeting comes as the U.S. regulator, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is holding hearings into clamping down on excessive speculation in commodity markets.
