LONDON, Aug 26 (Reuters) - European shares are set to open lower on Tuesday, tracking weakness in global equities as lingering credit worries over the financial sector and slowing global growth weighed on the market.

On Monday, the DAX lost 0.7 percent and the CAC 40 shed 1 percent, while the UK market was closed for holiday. The FTSE 100 closed up 2.5 percent on Friday. (Reporting by Dominic Lau; Editing by Kim Coghill)
