Soccer-Brazilian Ronaldo banned one match for hair-pulling
RIO DE JANEIRO, May 26 (Reuters) - Corinthians striker Ronaldo has been given a one-match ban for pulling an opponent's hair, Brazil's disciplinary tribunal said on Tuesday on its website (justicadesportiva.uol.com.br).
The former AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid striker was found guilty of ungentlemanly conduct for the incident during the goalless draw with Botafogo in the Brazilian championship 10 days ago.
The incident, not seen by the referee, happened as Ronaldo tussled with Botafogo defender Fahel and was caught by television cameras.
The 32-year-old has scored eight goals since joining Corinthians and is recovering from a serious knee injury he suffered last year. He is currently sidelined with a minor calf strain.
