LONDON (Reuters) - Index provider FTSE Group said on Thursday it would announce the results of its annual country classification review on September 18.

It said the review would designate which countries would move through its developed, advanced emerging, secondary emerging and frontier categories.

Last year, for example, Israel was promoted to developed status.

FTSE, along with MSCI Barra, Dow Jones and Standard & Poor's, is one of the world largest compilers of stock indexes used by the investment management industry as benchmarks.
