June 29 (Reuters) - The new Centre Court roof at Wimbledon was used for the first time during competition on Monday.

Here are some facts about the day's events (times GMT).

* Roof used for the first time during competition in a fourth-round match between top seed Dinara Safina of Russia and former champion Amelie Mauresmo of France.

* Button to close roof pressed at 1538.

* Roof closed after eight minutes.

* Play resumed at 1620 after the air management system acclimatised the arena.

* Safina completed 4-6 6-3 6-4 victory over Mauresmo by playing the final 59 minutes of their match under the roof.

* Briton Andy Murray beat Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka 2-6 6-3 6-3 5-7 6-3 in the first complete match to be played under the roof.  Continued...
