BRUSSELS, April 29 (Reuters) - The European Commission unveiled draft rules on bankers' pay and hedge funds on Wednesday to quell public anger over big bonuses and make markets safer for investors.

The proposals form part a wider re-regulatory push by the 27-nation European Union and its partners in the G20 group of industrialised and emerging market nations to restore confidence to a financial market hit by the worst crisis in 80 years.

They help draw to an end two decades of "light touch" financial supervision.   Continued...
