STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Thomson SA dip on asset sale doubts

Shares in debt-laden French media technology group Thomson SA TMS.PA drop 1.1 percent after daily La Tribune reports that the company is struggling to agree terms for the sale of its TV and film equipment maker Grass Valley to U.S. investment fund Platinum.

"According to La Tribune, exclusive negotiations with Platinum fund have been abandoned. Other buyers are still in the wings, but no advanced talks as yet. The group's disposal may therefore be postponed to 2010, which would be bad news for the share," one Paris-based trader says.
