German power capacity seen up 9.3 pct to Nov 6
FRANKFURT, Oct 30 (Reuters) - German power plant capacity reported by 26 utility companies to power exchange EEX was likely to rise by 9.3 percent to 67,995 megawatts in the seven days to Nov. 6, data from EEX showed on Friday.
The EEX bourse's website, which lists operators' plans on an aggregated basis, showed that nuclear capacity will rise by 1,830 MW in the seven days.
This tallies with RWE (RWEG.DE) finally resuming full load at its 1,344 MW Gundremmingen C reactor whose restart was drawn out in stages this week.
Hydroelectric and brown coal fired capacity will broadly remain steady but operators of hard coal fired capacity will add 2,246 MW if their plans materialise, the EEX data showed.
Gas fired capacity additions will total 1,295 MW.
Operators of a current total of 80,749 MW capacity report to the EEX voluntarily and the data does not specify individual plants.
Contributing companies that trade on the EEX are Germany's top generators RWE, E.ON (EONGn.DE), EnBW (EBKG.DE) and Vattenfall Europe [VATN.UL].
Other reporting firms are Germany's EVO of Offenbach, Stadtwerke Leipzig (SWL), GKM of Mainz, VSE AG, the city of Bremen utility (swb), Cologne's RheinEnergie, Dresden utility Drewag, N-ERGIE of Nuremberg, Stadtwerke Duesseldorf, Trianel, Heizkraftwerk Halle Trotha and Stadtwerke Duisburg.
Foreign players are Austrian companies KELAG, TIWAG, EVN (EVNV.VI), Salzburg AG, Wien Energie Wienstrom, Energie AG Oberoesterreich (EAG), Verbund subsidiaries ATP and AHB (VERB.VI), and GDF Suez Energie Deutschland (LYOE.PA), formerly Electrabel Deutschland. Continued...
